Travel Review - Campuestohan Highland Resort

Hi everyone! :))

Last Friday, April 11, 2014, my summer was officially started. Yay *confetti everywhere
After how many weeks in my own room, alone, at last! I'm with nature again.

My Uncle and cousins arrived in Bacolod City for a short vacation, and my mother decided to show them the Campuestohan Highland Resort.

The first time I went there, 2 years ago, constructions were still on going. The only recreational amenities in there were the swimming pool, playground for kids and life-size action figures.

Now, they constructed another swimming pool, a restaurant and additional cottages. Additional life-size and huge characters, like Kung Fu Panda and King Kong. They also had additional recreational activities like, Rock Course, Ziplining, The Hanging Bridge and Horseback Riding.

What's good in their was the cool wind and the relaxing ambiance of the  place. Entrance fee is at PHP 150 including the pool (no discounts for children). Recreational activities is at PHP 200 except for the Horseback Riding which is at PHP 150.

If you and your friends or family really want to go there, you should really plan it well. From the food, and, most especially, for the transportation. The location of the resort is really far from the city. They had their shuttle, but it is only available every weekends.

In our case, we expected that they had their shuttle on a weekday but was late in going to the place where they park. What we did was to hire a public vehicle going only to the resort. We paid PHP 800 for that, which is fine.
Then as we go home, they told us that their shuttle is only available on weekends and should be booked before if to be used on weekdays. So that was our problem, no transportation going back. The only vehicle was a tricycle (we were 10).

But what's great about them was that they find ways. So, one of the employees there, transacted a driver, who was also hired by another group of visitors. It costs us PHP 700, up to Alangilan only, which is 30 minutes away from Bacolod City.
We just grabbed the opportunity, since they said that, in a shuttle or tricycle, it will cost a hundred per person.
Then we ride a jeepney going to the city which is PHP 20 each person. All in all, we spent PHP 1500 more or less for the transportation.

SUMMARY
  1. More activities to be done in the resort.
  2. Attractions were made not only for kids, but also for adults.
  3. More cottages built that would accommodate more visitors.
  4. Approachable employees near the entrance.
  5. Entrance fee is worth it.

Disadvantages
  1. Location
  2. No shuttles on weekdays.
  3. Lack of information dissemination to those who were not tech savvy.
  4. Employees near the restaurant were not that guest-oriented.
  5. Hired vehicles took the opportunity to higher the cost.

All in all, I would rate Campuestohan Highland Resort as 4 out of 5 stars.

For me, what we spent was really worth it. Not only you enjoyed the view but also, you enjoyed the company of you family. Hoping for my next visit.
