August 4-6, 2016 knocks another adventure for me.
Me and my friends visited the beauty of Surigao del Sur.
We took advantage of the Cebu Pacific Seat Sale (unscheduled, you should check everyday LOL)
We took a Bacolod-Cebu-Surigao trip, instead of taking a bus, to save our energy for the whole trip. (PHP 3,000)
ITINERARY
Luckily, everything is on time. From the airport to the van and all. So here are the lists of places we've went.
Day 1
Bacolod Silay Airport to Mactan Cebu Int'l Airport 45 minutes via plane
Mactan Cebu Int'l Airport to Surigao Airport 55 minutes via plane
Surigao Airport to Casa de Babano 7 hours via Van
Day 2
Casa de Babano to Tinuy-an Falls 45 mins to 1 hr via van
Tinuy-an Falls to Hinatuan Enchanted River 1 hour and 30 mins via van
Hinatuan Enchanted River to Britania Islands 1 hour to 2 hours via van
Day 3
Mac Arthur's Place to Surigao Airport 5 hours via van
Surigao Airport to Mactan Cebu Int'l Airport 55 minutes via plane
We stayed in Cebu for another night
Day 4
Mactan Cebu Int'l Airport to Bacolod SIlay Airport 45 minutes via plane

TRANSPORTATION
We've searched the internet for our transportation and ended up with Butuan Car Van Rental.
Rental fee is at PHP 15,000.00 inclusion of gas and the driver.(depends on your itinerary)
It was a 3 day trip so I think it's reasonable.
The van is still new and can fit up to 10-11 persons (depending on the sizes. Hihi)
So that will be PHP 1,400.00 each including the driver's meal.
Since we are 8 in the group, that would be PHP 1,850 each including the driver's meal.
Tip: Mac Arthur's Place is the nearest to the Surigao Airport based on our itinerary so we were given a discount of PHP 500.00
It's also better for you to take a Bacolod-Cebu-Butuan to save 2 hours of the trip and to lessen your transporation expense.
ACCOMMODATION:
Since we are budget travelers, for the first night we stayed at Casa de Babano which we found at TripAdvisor.
Prices are reasonable and can fit up to 8 persons. Breakfast is also included.
We took the dorm type room at PHP 2,400.00 (PHP 400.00 each)
Lowest price is at PHP 350.00 (for those who travel alone)
For the second night, we got a room at Mac Arthur's Place which is also good since they also have complimentary breakfast.
Again, rooms can fit up to 8 persons, 3 beds and an extra foam at a reasonable price.
Room was at PHP 1,600.00 (PHP 200.00 each)
ACTIVITIES
Tinuy-an Falls
Entrance fee is at Php 50 each
You could reach up to the 3rd falls of Tinuy-an. But don't worry, it is an easy way.
Renting a raft is also best at the 1st falls. (PHP 150.00)
The beauty of it was just amazing to the nth power!!
Enchanted River
Entrance fee is at PHP 30.00 each
Very "enchanting" indeed! True to its name because of the majestic blue water (esp during sunlight)
The river is really, really, reallyyyyy deep! and its current is strong so I suggest to rent a life vest
Rental fee is at PHP 30.00 for an hour.
We swam for 1 hour and 30 minutes (PHP 45.00)
The cottage we took is good for 10 persons at PHP 500 (PHP 62.50)
The water is a mixture of salt and fresh.That's why,diff't kinds of water creatures appeared.
There were saltwater creatures and the next moment, you will see some freshwater creatures.
They also had a fish feeding scheduled at 12noon.
Britania Islands
Island hopping is at PHP 1,500 for the boat rental (PHP 190.00 each)
The tour is good for 3 hours with 4 islands to visit.
We have the Naked Island, Hagonoy Island, Boslon Island and Hiyor-Hiyoran Island.
Food
Day 1 Dinner
We stopped over on their "baywalk" which has an ihawan where you can have your dinner.
Day 2
Breakfast-Complimentary breakfast at Casa de Babano but for us, since we start the tour at 5:30, we had our breakfast at a "karinderya" in Tinuy-an Falls. Or, you can also bring a canned tuna, sardines, etc.
Lunch-At the entrance going to the Enchanted River, there were stalls that sells fresh seafood and meat where you can choose how it is to be cooked. It's up to the group on what to eat
Dinner-We ordered dinner at Mac Arthur's Place sold at per kilo. Depending on the menu.

Day 3
Breakfast-Complimentary breakfast at Mac Arthur's Place (egg, danggit and rice, addt'l PHP 50 if w/ ham or hotdog)
Other than that, you should also try to taste their sa-ang, it'sa type of "shelled" creature which is good with "sinamak" (yummy!)

For additional information, in case you don't know, curfew in Surigao is strictly implemented and it is a No Smoking Place (which I am glad about)
