Travel Diary: Siquijor

Hi! Yes, this is a  late post because of my weekly commitments. Haha, stressful summer. So here it is!

On a typical Monday night of March, we traveled by land going to the Port of Dumaguete City. From there, we waited for hours, until we bounded a fast craft going to Siquijor.

Siquijor is located in the Central Visayas region of the Philippines. Around the province are Cebu, Bohol, Negros and at the South is Mindanao. (Source: http://siquijor.netne.net/geography/)

We stayed at Dondeezco Beach Resort. The place was very peaceful and relaxing, but the sad part was that, they're not maintaining the cleanliness of the shore. Which makes us say that it's better to swim in their swimming pool.

As we arrived at the resort, we immediately fixed ourselves and get ready for tour around the province. While we are traveling, I can say that people who lived there were like rich ones. They only have a few population but lots of resources. Most of the houses there were not just ordinary houses, they were, wide or tall.

Our first stop was the Capilay's Spring Park.

When we arrived there, I was shocked that there were a number of people who were swimming, knowing that the water was not so clean.

Our next stop was the Old Enchanted Balete Tree.

As we all know, everytime we hear the word "Balete" the first thing that comes out were supernatural beings. But when we saw the tree, I can't feel anything creepy or weird. I was just amazed that there's a fish spa at the side of the tree. Hihi

Our 3rd stop was an old church, I think it's Church of Lazi.

Then our next stop was the Cambugahay Falls. Before reaching there, we went down a hundred plus step. And upon reaching there, I love the color of the water. ^_^-

And then for lunch, we went to a resort (I have low memory, I forgot the name :( ).

I like it there because of the view. It's just that the place was under maintenance when we got there.

Then, we went to a souvenir shop located at the heart of the city. We then went back to the resort we stayed, took a short rest then unwind at the pool.

As we roam around the province, it makes me say that they are preserving history. Most of the structures there were from the Marcos' Era. They also preserve religious artifacts, like the grotto.

So that's it for now everyone! :D I hope you liked it. Thank you!
